Just recently I had to do a quick work trip. As the situation is really strange and the weather keeps changing all the time my work travel wardrobe was adjusted to this. With the current situation, the business dress code is more relaxed, which makes it easier to pack. Instead of packing black pants, I do well with the jeans. That small change makes travelling light even easier. For the first time, I managed to pack to a tote for 7 days. Here is what I packed for a summer business trip.

Summer Business Trip

From time to time all of us need to do a short or long work-related travel. But even when it comes to a business dress code or stressful meetings our work travel wardrobe doesn’t need to be stressful or we don’t need to overthink it. All that we have to think about are the materials what we pack. Especially for summer business trips, when everyone is ‘boiling’ we would like to stay cool, as much as possible, and in the ‘ ironed ‘ ( crinkle-free ) clothes as long as possible. That’s what I keep in mind when I travel. So here is what I packed.

Shirts

Probably everyone’s first choice. Yes, mine too. I packed the oversized white button-down with the roll-up sleeves and a black satin blouse. I styled both with the black jeans and loafers. I have worn oversized over the jeans for a fresh summer look and another day I have worn black satin tucked nicely in the jeans.

T-shirts

Wherever I go I always pack my OrganicBasics t-shirts. These t-shirts work really hard, it doesn’t matter if I need to catch up on a plane or for the meeting. SilverTech thread in these cotton t-shirts is like having a deodorant all the time. No matter how stressful you are this t-shirt won’t let you down. And the best is, let it air dry overnight and you can wear it again if you need to. I especially love to wear them with a silk skirt, a simple t-shirt and a more dress-up skirt makes a great combo.

Dress

There is not much say as it is an outfit on its own. Simple design goes really well even with the loafers.

Jeans

As I said so many times, the great jeans are your must-have of the capsule wardrobe. Doesn’t matter about style and colour but for business-related outfits is better to be safe with the black in your bag.

Short-sleeve knit

Just recently I fell in love with this style. It can be actually a really great piece for all year round wardrobe. Looking smart and a knit keeps you warmer in the air-conditioned offices. There is no need to take extra blazer or cardigan. Saving the much-needed place in your bag.

Skirt

I couldn’t imagine to own and wear a silk skirt, but since I got one I don’t wear anything else. Looks great with everything, t-shirt, blouse or sweater paired with the heels, loafers or trainers. Not to forget how lightweight it is for travelling.

That’s my week of outfits what I needed for my summer business trip and what I actually wore. If you think it’s too casual, yes it could be, but nothing is as it used to be. Even corporate offices are changing as our work life changed. So don’t worry to experiment a bit more and take your office outfits more casually than before.

And if you travelled recently, hopefully you didn’t have to as it’s still better to stay at home, please let me know what you packed. And if you like more casual outfit ideas have a look at my other posts. Or have a look at my Instagram for my real wardrobe.  And let me know, once you are there your thoughts. Hope to meet you there.
