I love fall and spring, but not that much winter when it comes to dressing. The trouble I have is that I want to look chick but finding comfortable winter outfits that are also warm is quite difficult. I have done my research and tested the waters and the weather by stepping out in those kinds of outfits. I wasn’t just warm, I also felt comfortable and chic while I wore these minimalist outfits. But don’t forget to wear your thermals underneath for extra warmth.

Once you created a minimalist capsule wardrobe you probably realized that comfort is everything, at least for me. And it does not make any difference even in the winter. Staying stylish yet comfortable might be a challenge, but with a few pieces you can create amazingly chic yet comfortable winter outfits. The materials and layers are the key, keep reading what keeps me warm.

What Keeps You Warm

I mentioned it so many times, that while we build a capsule wardrobe, quality is our priority over quantity. And it’s even more important in the winter. If you are always cold probably you don’t wear natural materials. Instead of an acrylic sweater try to look for a wool one. Wool doesn’t need to be expensive, merino wool is quite an affordable option. Once you add a wool coat you will have a chic and toasty outfit. But before I forget, don’t forget your base layers. They are closest to your skin, so look for natural materials as well, in the case you are allergic, you can opt for cotton with the silver thread.

What Materials Keep You Warm

Only naturally sourced materials can keep you warm. You need to look for cotton, merino wool, wool, cashmere, silk and leather. All those materials are natural materials with thermoregulation properties. When you want to be warm and comfortable, the materials are the key.

What Colours To Include For Easy and Comfortable Winter Outfits

You know by now that I am a huge fan of neutrals. And for a winter it’s not a difference. On other hand, the winters outfits are darker toned anyway. But even if you are not a huge fan of neutrals just stick to your usual colour palette. To keep your outfits chic try to include only 3 colours in your outfits. That way your outfit will look fully though true and put together not overwhelming.

What To Think Of When Putting Together Comfortable Winter Outfits

To keep in mind when you putting together a comfortable winter outfits is that you need to use more layers of high quality materials. Not to forget base layer and when it comes to shoes try to get them in leather. As the leather is natural material, it keeps your feet dry for longer, it will stretch with the time and it’s easier to fix the small scratches. And leather ages so well, so high quality shoes will lasts you couple of seasons, for some people even 5-6 years. There is not much to think of. Also to stay comfortable in your outfit you can consider to use a stretch bang on your trousers and to also wear a loose fit, you can fit another layer under if needed.
