January coming to the end and I keep noticing many challenges on Instagram. January is actually the perfect month to start fresh, scratch all the bad days and months from the previous year and try to do something better, new and different. That’s how my journey into minimalism started as well. Not being bored but more being tired of wanting something more and new. Back then I challenge myself to not buy anything at all for a year, I am pretty sure you heard a lot about it already. It helped me to streamline my wardrobe by a huge chunk. But since then I am taking less drastic challenges, mostly to play around with my wardrobe and curate it to perfection. One of those curated steps is making a wishlist and challenging myself by planning as many outfits as possible with the items that I already have in my wardrobe plus adding wishlist items. Are you wondering how do I do that? By doing a simple style challenge 8×10, meaning 8 items for 10 days. Including shoes and a bag. Read below what do I want to achieve.

Style Challenge 8×10

This is not a challenge that you need to strictly follow, it’s more about playing around with the items that you have and the items from your wishlist, how you can style them together if they fit the rest of your wardrobe and your style. It helps you to visualise your next purchases and might help you decide on your next purchases. With this little challenge, you can plan your seasonal wardrobes as well. Would you really need 33 items for 3 months, or you would be ok with much less? All of these should help you shop smarter and save you money in a long time.

What Did I Include and Why?

In this challenge, I included my beloved trench coat as I can’t wait to wear it again, also trainers instead of boots. You don’t need to feel restricted by the wardrobe choices, you can go for anything and any season, not only a current season. It might get you excited about your clothes again if you get bored with the current wardrobe items or weather. I also included 6 items that I already own and only 2 items from my wishlist. I really want to see how everything will work with the actual wardrobe not a dream wardrobe, or wishlist wardrobe – if that kind of wardrobe even exists. Those 2 items that I picked are the most versatile items that are on my wishlist. Especially sweater. I was never too sure about the lighter colour, but I can see it would fit my style nicely. It brightens up the whole outfit. Pants are a comfortable yet smart option to jeans.

What About The Rest?

Jeans and a t-shirt are my staples, I can imagine living without them. A white shirt makes things a bit more interesting. Thanks to a smart yet casual style it is appropriate for any kind of day. Office, weekend or running errands not a problem with the trainers and big tote on your shoulder. Is there anything that would be a better match for these outfits?

What Is This All About

Remember you don’t need to live with that many items for the next 10 days unless you want to, this challenge is more about planning your wardrobe and shopping smarter. To save you time and money in the future. By doing this little challenge you might find out that your dream wishlist items don’t even fit the rest of your wardrobe or your style whatsoever.

As I mentioned at the begging January is a good month to start fresh, something new and with a different approach as we used to. By doing simple things differently we can achieve brand new possibilities. And if any case the curated wardrobe is on your to-do list this year this is a good start. Plan your wardrobe and make smart decisions and purchases. Btw if you are not sure how to do those collages please get in touch I am happy to help you as I did to many ladies already.  You can reach me on Instagram, Pinterest or simply send me an email.

Hope you like the way I curate my wardrobe and plan my future purchases.  If you like more inspiration have a look at my other styling posts over here.
