I don’t even know how but we are already in December. It’s been such a strange year, we had to accommodate so many changes, that I am even more than ever grateful for my capsule wardrobe. But I had to do little tweaks to it as this year changes affected me a bit. Instead of living in London, we moved back home, not just from one country to another but moving from the city to settle in the countryside has a huge impact, especially in the winter where we have more snow and freezing temperatures. I had to add some winter staples to my wardrobe, to keep me warm during the winter months. Scroll down to see my adjusted winter capsule wardrobe and how it changed compared to the city winter wardrobe.

Winter Capsule Wardrobe
As I mentioned above there are so many changes happening. And it’s not only me but as many people are working from home it means we don’t need that many business clothes as we used to. It left our wardrobes lighter and with fewer morning clothes related decisions to make. But it doesn’t mean we need to skip the style and wear only loungewear, especially in the winter when we need good quality clothes to keep us warm.
What I Have and What I Added to My Wardrobe
First, of all, I had to get more jeans for my capsule wardrobe. I only owned a single pair of jeans as I used to wear them only on weekends or on casual Fridays, but working from home made me rethink my jeans collections and I purchased a few more. I’ll be honest with you, they are not sustainable options but I knew what I am getting and they will fit me so well that I’ll wear them for many years to come.
For the past few years, since I started my capsule wardrobe journey, I added good quality knits that stand the test of time and will last for a few more years. It means I don’t need to add any more.
You might be surprised by a short sleeve t-shirt option, but it is a great base layer under warm knits. And if you feel hot in the heated rooms, you can take off the knit without worry. And as you already know I stocked my capsule with these Organic Basics SilverTech t-shirts.
Jackets are a must in the winter wardrobe, even when I added a coat and a puffer to a capsule wardrobe I wasn’t lucky to find a coat that I like and would keep me warm without compromising on style. Otherwise, I can tell I was really lucky to get a puffer that is fashionable and really warm. So I am ok with it until I find the coat of my dreams.
My pointy toe boots are really great for a city winter but living close to the mountains they are more like fall boots than winter boots. I had to get a pair that is warm but didn’t want to compromise on style too much. The mountain boots weren’t my go-to option at all.
In the accessories, I didn’t need to do many changes as I used to wear a hat, beanie and scarf all the time. I can’t forget the gloves too. What many people are surprised I always wear sunglasses, they protect my eyes from the strong winter sun reflecting from the snow and keep the wrinkles under control, which is a win-win.
