I am sure most of us would like to look as good as possible even when temperatures reach way below zero. But let’s be honest, most of the time all that we can think of is to wear layers on layers. Sometimes it ends up as an ‘ onion ‘. If you wondering how to look chic in comfortable winter clothes keep reading for the basics to pull out from your capsule wardrobe.

Rollnecks

Rollnecks are the basics of our winter wardrobe. We wear them all the time, they are thick, warm and so comfortable. And once you wear them with the right bottom you have a comfortable outfit. Wear the roll-neck with leggings and chunky boots, or wide-leg trousers. You will feel comfortable yet warm.

Merino crewneck

If you never tried merino wool knitwear, you should do it now. It is a natural material that perfectly replaces cotton t-shirts. It is easily layered under any sweater, or shirt or worn on its own. It looks amazing under the blazer.

Oversized shirt

An oversized shirt is a no-brainer when it comes to looking chic yet comfortable. As I mentioned above it can be layered over a merino crewneck knit or under the blazer. You don’t need to feel restricted even at work. If you go for a longer length you can style it with leggings for extra comfort, and topped up with the blazer to look stylish.

Blazer

The blazer can be easily dressed down as dressed up. The oversized blazer should be your go-to style if you looking for comfort. Worn with leggings and tied with the slim belt is fashionably chic.

Leggings

Leggings are another must-have item that you should include in your comfortable chic winter capsule wardrobe because they will look good with oversized sweaters and boots, or with an oversized shirt and blazer either on casual or workdays! Or if you don’t like them to wear on their own, they can always help to layer under wide-leg trousers.

Wool pants

Wool pants are a great alternative to a joggers. The material makes them stand out and they are perfect for a winter. If you need to go for a quick shopping or lounge around they will be perfect to be comfortable in them and warm enough even for a freezing temperatures.

Wide-leg tailored trousers

Wide-leg tailored trousers became a must in the wardrobe. There is nothing surprising about it. As it’s one of the most comfortable styles out there. And thanks to a tailoring they are a perfect fit for an office too. If you live in the conditions where you feel that you wouldn’t stand the freezing temps wear them with the leggings underneath, no one even notice.

Puffer coat

When I first tried on the puffer coat I was like ‘ I look like a bear ‘, but it doesn’t need to be true. Puffer coat can be actually really stylish piece in the coldest winter days. New puffer coats aren’t that thick and keep you warm, and when you get one with the interesting detail no need for anything else. It will do the talk. What I love about the puffer coat I don’t need to wear many layers underneath, t-shirt, shirt or a sweater is more than enough. Lately I fell in love with the comfy look of leggings, sweater and a trainers topped up with the puffer coat.

Flat chunky boots

Chunky boots weren’t my most favourite trends. But as we can see it around for a while now, I became more open to idea to wear one. And I can’t imagine the better alternative to a comfy winter boots then a flat chunky boots. They are comfortable and wide enough even to accommodate muscle cuff of those of us who likes to wear heels for the rest of the year. Those boots looks good with the leggings, with the tucked in wide-leg trousers or even with the mid-calf skirt.

Accessories

Are you wondering if there is anything else how to keep you comfortably chic in the winter clothes so then we can’t forget to add accessories. The big part of our winter wardrobes. Without wool beanie, thick scarf and gloves you would be still freezing. So keep this on hand next to your everyday bag.
